Update on the pet front

So, in the last 6 months or so, I've added to our family.  Shadow of course is thoroughly disgusted with me, but a co-worker talked me into visiting the local animal shelter.  She was looking for a dog and I thought I was reasonably safe.  My perameters are very narrow on the pet front.  In deference to Shadow, no animal can grow bigger than her(leaving out most dogs, especially strays) and a cat must come to me declawed ( Shadow came to me that way,but I won't declaw a cat) usually rare in shelters.  So for all intensive purposes, I was safe.  But in I walked and there sat Luna.  A declawed, gray, short-haired cat who is about the same size as Shadow.  So, same size as or smaller than Shadow.  Check.  Already declawed.  Check.  I knew I was in trouble.
I tried to stay away, but she already had a Potter name.  Nory, or course, being short for Noberta, was Potter inspired.  So Luna would fit in so well.  Not only name wise, but would complement the solid black and black and white pet color scheme I had going.  But, I walked away to follow my friend to the dogs.
Of course, I had to pass her on my way back out through the shelter.  I had to at least stop and say "hi" and "bye".  Then fate took a hand, a worker, who saw me fawning over her, told me she was a "problem child".  She had been brought back twice.  The first time was because the owner moved.  The second reported her attacking them at night.  I was also told, the second family had a child; often not a good mix for a cat.  She said that when she came back the second time, they had to treat her almost as a feral cat for a while.  That was when the die was cast, my heart set.  I would have to upset Shadow for a second time in less than a year.  She needed a mom who would love her anyway.
Knowing the potential problems, I had a plan of keeping them separate for at least a month.  I have a full garage basement, so if worse came to worse, I would have an upstairs and downstairs cat.  However, after a week of her being home, I knew the reports were exaggerated and was able to speed up the greeting process.  Not that her and Shadow are good friends.  No, Shadow still looks at me with reproach in her eyes at bringing the newest "thing" home.  However, Nory and Luna have become sparring friends.  They play and ponce each other frequently.  Luna does get a little rough at times and Nory is quite the wimp, which is some what natural of any siblings. While the picture below shows them sleeping together, it has only happened the once.
Luna does like to "attack" me.  It's always her playing.  When looking in her paperwork, I found that she was only a year and a half old; still a lot of kitten in her.  She is very playful and independent, not overly fond of being held or petted.  She does love to cuddle in a lap and sleeps in the crooks of my knees almost every night.  I am glad I brought her home.  This road has had it's shares of ups and downs, but the ups have definitely made up of the few downs.
Below are pictures of Luna, Nory and Shadow.  The one of Nory and Shadow on my lap and Luna on the back of the couch was at the same time.  The closest to laying all three together as they have ever come.  I don't even think that will ever happen, but it sure keeps me on my toes.  :)
